  • York St John was originally founded in May 1841 as York Diocesan Training School - 2016 marks our 175th Anniversary;
  • The University was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers in 2005 and became York St John University in October 2006. The University was awarded Research Degree Awarding Powers in 2015;
  • Over 6,400 undergraduate and postgraduate students study at York St John University;
  • Currently, students from 80 countries around the world study at the University;
  • York St John University is a significant employer in the city of York and the North Yorkshire region, with approximately 770 staff;
  • Over £110 million has been invested in new, cutting-edge facilities, grounds and buildings over the past 10 years;
