The Human Resource Team

The HR department is available as a source of support and advice to managers and employees on all matters relating to conditions of employment.  We aim to provide a highly pro-active and responsive service. The following information is designed to provide details of who does what within the team. 

The HR team are all based in Holgate and our office hours are 9.00 am - 5 pm

Jo is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the HR team.  She is responsible for ensuring the provision of a responsive and customer-focused HR service to managers, staff and other customers in direct support of the University’s HR Strategy and business plans.

Hannah manages the HR Advisory Team responsible for the operational HR Service to the University.  Hannah works in close partnership with managers in designated areas of the University to fully understand their current and future business challenges and objectives and associated people requirements. Hannah is also currently leading on the "HR Self Service" Project, which includes the roll out of online payslips with further functionality to be added in late 2015.

Jane is Emma Wilkins PA and looks after her diary and is responsible for servicing Committees such as the Joint Consultative Committees and HR Management Group.  Jane is also responsible for supporting aspects of recruitment.

She has particular responsibility for supporting the University’s Staff Wellbeing Agenda and Staff Benefits Portfolio.

Lynda is responsible for managing and developing the university staff recruitment process, systems and procedures.  She provides professional advice as well as supporting all aspects of the recruitment and selection process from placing advertisements and receiving enquiries, through to interview arrangements.  Lynda delivers recruitment training and workshops as required as well as being responsible for the HR internal and external web-pages.

Hannah is the systems administrator for the HR Management Information Systems. The role supports the provision of employee data and information for both colleagues and external reporting requirements.  Hannah is responsible for working with the HR Advisers in ensuring the accuracy of the data we hold and for developing the system to ensure the on-going validity and quality of the employee information the University maintains in relation to staffing.

Vikki provides a welcoming service for the HR department and supports key HR administrative processes, including recruitment.  Vikki is also the point of contact for staff ID badges.

Emma manages the Staff Development team. She is responsible for the development and implementation of a University organisational development strategy to support the University to achieve its corporate plan.

Mandy is responsible for coordinating a programme of Staff Development events delivered by internal and external facilitators. She is responsible for delivering the University's Induction Process.

Rachael deals with all staff development course requests, booking staff onto the relevant courses and issuing booking confirmations. She also administers the University's Fee Remission Policy.
